Cristina Álvarez Barrett
I’m Cristina, founder of MONA Payment Solutions. After 35 years in the payments industry, I started MONA in 2016 with a simple mission: partner with heart and purpose to make electronic payments simpler, smarter, and more human.
Our team lives by four core values. We’re team players who support our clients and each other, making sure everyone succeeds. We’re tenacious, working hard, staying resilient, and never giving up on a goal. We’re professional communicators who stay warm, poised, and approachable. And above all, we operate with integrity—being transparent, trustworthy, and real.
I love that MONA has become a family business, surrounded by people who care about our clients as much as I do. When I’m not working, you’ll find me traveling with my husband, cooking for friends, playing pickleball, or spoiling our dog, Lando. We’re building toward an exciting future—more clients, new markets, and a happy, thriving team—and we’d love for you to be part of it.
